These frogs have a dark rust red coloration with irregular light stripes. As the frogs mature these stripes often change from white to an iridescent blue color. Males have a relatively loud call, and will guard their clutch of eggs after mating with a female. Upon hatching the male will transport his tadpoles to a body of water for them to grow
