I've heard of 'STR' Shaved, toasted and recharred stone spun involves spinning casks with small stones inside to polish off the old char before retoasting which I imagine has a similar effect to shaving a cask. Marketing team adding a bit of poetry to a process to get more life out of old casks. Soon they will say the stones are pebbles from the spring in Skye that supplies the water for the whisky.
