I am told that it originally came through the Magistretti collection in Italy

These are iconic examples of the species from Mogok and a must have for any fan of gem crystals or "floater" crystals

but many of them are easily visible with the naked eye

The gemmier portions of the piece have great luster and that classic “glass-bead” like appearance that is well known in Hyalite

For years, people have written that these epimorphs were replacements of Quartz after Baryte, and I always contested that this couldnt be the case, and that the casts were most likely after Anhydrite.
