Spider and Web Tile by Franklin Pottery Wheatley pottery Tile A glazed architectural terra cottaThis dramatic art deco era tile was made at the Franklin Tile Company (1923 1935) in Lansdale PA. It shows a spiderweb and spider surrounded by flowering branches. The tile measures 8 7 8" square. The edges of the tile are glazed in black and there is an embedded hanger into the back of the faience clay body. Some illegible advertising can seen on the plaster that covered the base of the hanger. The condition is nearly perfect. The detail is
