a flat cross guard with downturned quillons (the right quillon is stamped with the Hungarian crest on the reverse) with a left-facing eagle with outstretched wings on the obverse and vertically fluted on the reverse
on top of a sheer sided hill the only approach to which was along a knife edge ridge allowing only three men to move abreast
