An interesting battle damaged Heer M42 Stahlhelm, constructed of a single sheet of magnetic molybdenum steel. It is flanked by integral ventilation holes, and also bears four holes formerly accommodating rivets which secured in place the interior fixtures. The shell is perforated by five shrapnel holes, with additional dents of various sizes, reflecting considerable battlefield damage. In classic M42 style, the rim is uncrimped.
