Instituted 18 October 1861 by King Wilhelm I. (1869 1918 issue). Constructed of Gold with multi coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Patte with white enameled arms trimmed in with gilt borders, the obverse bearing a central Gold medallion overlaid by a raised crown, set within a ring of blue enamel bearing a gilt inscription of GOTT MIT UNS (GOD WITH US) and arabesques, the reverse bearing a
