with an additional RAD Emsland unit Officer’s cuff title pasted onto the cover (a unit noted for involvement in construction of the West Wall)

Germany, Third Reich. A German Red Cross Active Membership Badge, Karlsruhe District, by Alfred Stübbe consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac a Bundesmarine Flottendienstgeschwader (Fleet Service(Deutsches Rotes Kreuz Brosche fr Schwesternschaft). Constructed of gilded bronze with multi coloured enamels, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, stamped with an inscription of KARLSRUHE and membership number 844, maker marked A. STBBE, BERLIN, measuring 42 mm in diameter, demonstrating flecking and fine cracking to the enamels with loss of gilt finish throughout the base metal, in very fine condition.
