Constructed of stamped iron (magnetic), the obverse depicting a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, with a log pillbox on either side, above an inscription of DEMJANSK, with a frontal view of a single propeller plane overlaid by two crossed swords, with a bottom date of 1942, set on a field grey Heer (Army) wool background, the reverse with all four attachment prongs intact, measuring 58 mm (w) x 102 mm
