A white metal cross patte with a blackened core (non magnetic); the obverse with a raised central three pointed stem of oak leaves with the re institution date 1939 in raised numbering on the six oclock arm; the reverse with the original institution date 1813 in raised numbering on the six oclock arm; on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon; measuring 43. 51 mm (w) x 43. 55 mm (h);
